LA SIERPIENTE MARINA AMARILLA DEL GOLFO DULCE, "XANTHOS"

Este singular reptil marino es endémico del Golfo Dulce. Hydrophis platurus xanthos Aislado geográficamente de su pariente más cercano (la serpiente marina pelágica, Hydrophis platurus ) H. p. xanthos se ha adaptado a las condiciones de la cuenca interior. Se caracteriza por un tamaño corporal pequeño, piel de color canario, una ecología divergente y comportamientos distintivos.
