INVERTEBRATES IN GOLFO DULCE

Benthic communities of invertebrates live in the sediments of Golfo Dulce (Nichols-Driscoll 1976, Leon-Morales & Vargas 1998), including a variety of small copepods (Morales-Ramirez 1996). Golfo Dulce is also home to mollusks (Hoisaeter 1998, Silva & Carrion 2001, Silva-Benavides & Bonilla 2015), coral reefs (Cortez 1992), Portuguese man-of-wars, sea jellies, sea stars and crabs (see BIODIVERSITY).
